The Asymptotic Mandelbrot Law of Some Evolution Networks
نویسنده
چکیده
Complex networks are now the joint focus of many branches of research. Particularly, the scale-free property of some networks attracts continuous interests, due to their importance and pervasiveness. In short, this property means that the degree distribution of a network obeys a power law P (k) ∝ k , where k is the degree and P (k) is the corresponding probability density, and the scaling exponent γ is a constant. A pioneering model that generates power-law degree distribution was presented by Barabási and Albert (BA). In recent studies, it was found that in some complex networks, e.g. transportation networks and social collaboration networks, the degree distribution follows the so-called “shifted power law” P (k) ∝ (k + c) , where the shifting coefficient c is another constant. This property is also called “Mandelbrot law”. To understand the origins of such Mandelbrot law, Ren, Yang and Wang proposed a interesting growing network that is generated with linear preferential attachment. In such networks, there exits a recursive dependence relationship between every two consecutive degrees

On the Analysis of Queues with Heavy Tails: A Non-Extensive Maximum Entropy Formalism and a Generalisation of the Zipf-Mandelbrot Distribution
A critique of a non-extensive maximum entropy (NME) formalism is undertaken in conjunction with its application into the analysis of queues with heavy tails that are often observed in performance evaluation studies of heterogeneous networks exhibiting traffic burstiness, self-similarity and/or long range dependence (LRD). The credibility of the NME formalism, as a method of inductive inference,...
متن کاملAn Evolving model of online bipartite networks
Understanding the structure and evolution of online bipartite networks is a significant task since they play a crucial role in various e-commerce services nowadays. Recently, various attempts have been tried to propose different models, resulting in either power-law or exponential degree distributions. However, many empirical results show that the user degree distribution actually follows a shi...
متن کاملAsymptotic Close to Optimal Resource Allocation in Centralized Multi-band Wireless Networks
This paper concerns sub-channel allocation in multi-user wireless networks with a view to increasing the network throughput. It is assumed there are some sub-channels to be equally divided among active links, such that the total sum rate increases, where it is assumed each link is subject to a maximum transmit power constraint. This problem is found to be a non-convex optimization problem and i...
متن کاملAsymptotic Behaviors of the Lorenz Curve for Left Truncated and Dependent Data
The purpose of this paper is to provide some asymptotic results for nonparametric estimator of the Lorenz curve and Lorenz process for the case in which data are assumed to be strong mixing subject to random left truncation. First, we show that nonparametric estimator of the Lorenz curve is uniformly strongly consistent for the associated Lorenz curve. Also, a strong Gaussian approximation for ...
متن کاملBeyond the Zipf-Mandelbrot law in quantitative linguistics
In this paper the Zipf-Mandelbrot law is revisited in the context of linguistics. Despite its widespread popularity the Zipf–Mandelbrot law can only describe the statistical behaviour of a rather restricted fraction of the total number of words contained in some given corpus. In particular, we focus our attention on the important deviations that become statistically relevant as larger corpora a...
